I recently purchased air miles from sellmymiles.com and for someone who is not very proficient or regular in making online purchases, I was very pleasantly surprised with the ease with which the transaction was executed and the regular updates I received from the team on the status of the transaction. From start to finish, the miles were transferred to my account in less than 30 minutes, despite me having provided a wrong frequent flyer number, an error that was quickly spotted by the team and brought to my notice. I would strongly endorse the purchase of air miles from this source. The only cavil I have is a 5% charge on the use of a credit card. This was transparent and I knew I was paying this charge but it adds a significant element to the cost, given that all credit cards already have a c 4% foreign currency conversion spread. Given that bank transfers are not easy to make ( there are limits on how much you can transfer in one go and sometimes you have to wait for 24/36 hours after setting up a beneficiary to effect the payment), I would recommend that sellmymiles.com looks for some solution to lower the transaction cost for international customers.
