Some airlines will give passengers bonus miles if they purchase airline tickets through a certain credit card.  

3. Shop From Home

It is also possible to earn frequent flyer miles by sitting at home. This can be done by shopping through airline specific shopping portals. By clicking on the links available on their shopping portal, users will be redirected to the desired website. If a purchase is made by clicking on the link, the frequent flyer miles earned through the purchase will be added to their account. Vendors such as Target, Walmart, Barnes and Noble are just some of the retailers who give frequent flyer miles per purchase.
